Frédéric Ray first calculated horoscopes “by hand” under the supervision of Charles Gantz starting in 1980. Charles had previously been Astrology Fellow of the Esalen Institute. He was thoroughly conversant in Rosicrucian Astrology as expressed by Max Heindel, and was a student of Dane Rudhyar’s astrological approach.
Frédéric has a career background in mathematics, economics, finance, engineering and applied physics. He has interpreted untold numbers of horoscopes, and finds that the astounding accuracy of Astrology and its precision is one of the great treasures of humanity. His experience ranges from early laborious processes lasting days required to manually cast a horoscope to accessing prolific time-saving capabilities of the modern professional astrologers’ computer programs. Today’s unprecedented technology resources support the opportunity to evaluate many thousands of examples. This capacity allows the Astrologer the ability to perform diligent in-depth research at levels reaching scientific and reliable accuracy.
By now he has calculated in excess of 25,000 horoscopes, and is one of the veteran astrologers in professional practice. While he is familiar with all credible systems, eastern and western, ancient and contemporary, his emphasis is on traditional western technique, as informed by Project Hindsight, led by esteemed astrologers Robert Schmidt, Ellen Black, Robert Hand and Robert Zoller. The goal of this historic effort was to translate the entire corpus of writings in the western astrological tradition. These essential astrological source materials were originally penned in Greek, Arabic, and Latin. The Organization created by these four leaders to fulfill this task was ARHAT – the Association for the Retrieval of Historic Astrological Texts. This scholarship has dramatically increased the accuracy and lends substantial credibility of contemporary astrology practice.
His 20th-century-astrologer influences include Isabel Hickey, Robert Hand, Robert Zoller, Liz Greene, Lee Lehman, Noel Tyl, and many others.
He became known as “The Royal Astrologer” in the context of Renaissance Festivals where he would engage in reading hundreds of patrons during a spring season of weekend events. These readings were donein 16th century style, meaning NO technology. His readings were done the old way, using “Ephemeris” details showing daily planetary positions for over a century.
Areas of Focus
Many individuals and couples obtain their first and followup astrological readings with him. In this context they learn that astrology is a powerful tool that brings clarity and understanding. Areas of inquiry often include relationships, children, career, financial prospects, moves to different locations, and understanding what’s leading to changes in the client’s life.
Astrology gives access to very specific insights into what is significant in a person’s past, present and is the only existing means to routinely and effectively formulate accurate predictions about the future.
Frédéric has done considerable astrological research into the relationships between planetary motion and macro-economics. This allows for forecasting, and he correctly predicted three recent financial recessions including 2001, 2008, and 2020, well in advance. He has a keen interest in the use of astrological evaluation to get behind the surface of world events and the fate of nations.
